Parcels Program

The American Polish Assistance Association has already sent hundreds of large and richly packed boxes to such places as: the "Betlejem" Center of Nowy Sącz, Children's Homes in Rzeszow, Białystok, Lublin, Wroclaw, Zakopane, and Przemyśl (all in Poland) and numerous orphanages and children's homes in Belarus and Ukraine. The delivery of parcels to these two countries is facilitated by the "Rota" organization in Lublin. Each package is numbered and its contents are listed. All of the records of shipment are part of the public domain and our books are open to all who would be interested in validating the work of the A.P.A.A.

We are currently looking for donations, which are the basis for our parcels program. For specific information about items that are being collected, please check our Wish List.

Packing Day

Each Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., members and friends of the APAA gather at the office to do some very important work for the organization. This includes: accepting donations, selling folk art, sorting clothing and toys, discarding items that are not useable, doing mail-outs, answering phone calls, arranging fund-raisers and packaging donations for our orphanages in Eastern Europe. The last job perhaps is the most tedious and time-consuming. Packages have to be prepared in a certain way, contents have to be recorded and then the boxes have to be transported to a storage area or to the shipping agency. We invite everyone to donate some time to these efforts. Young men are especially needed for carrying the boxes and preparing transports. You do not have to call us... just appear... as do all guardian angels of any non-profit charitable endeavor.

Please read sample letter from a Children's Home in Skopanie, Poland (text in Polish). We receive such requests on regular basis.
