The World of Polish Dolls
The dolls are made in Warsaw, Poland by a family of talented artists who have devoted years to research on the folkways, traditions and folk dress of Poland as well as other Eastern European countries.
The dolls are mounted on wooden bases. Individual dolls are on bases that measure 3" X 3" and the couples are on bases that are 3" X 6". The wood is blonde in color. The height of the dolls is from 10 - 12". The width, depending upon folk dress style is from 4" - 6" on single dolls and pairs 6" - 8". Faces are made of painted paper-mache or cloth. Hands are also cloth.
Some regional dolls are presented in various colors. The folk dress of dolls from Krakow, Kaszubia, Rzeszow, Zywiec, Poznan and Slask may appear in colors than are different from those presented in the pictures. If you are interested in receiving a doll is a specific color you should indicate this in your order. You should understand however that the wait may be up to 4-6 weeks. If the color is not available, we will inform you.
Payment for orders:
Individual dolls are $26 apiece. The only exception is a single male or female doll of the nobility. These are $28 apiece. The shipping and handling charge for a single doll is $6.50.
Pairs are $52 apiece with the exception of the Pair of Nobility Dolls which are $56. Shipping and handling for a pair of dolls in $8.50. Parcels are sent well-packed and first class.

#25 Vests The APAA has a large assortment of vests from various regions of Poland. The price range is $135 to $250 depending upon the size, the amount of decoration and the type. In order to accurately order, interested individuals should inquire about measurement sheets which provide a guide according to the metric system. Once measurements are taken, they are forwarded to the Ladies Union of Embroidery and Folk Dress in Rzeszow, Poland where the vests are made. If someone is already aware of the vest size (according to European measurements) it may be submitted in the event that the size of the vest is already available. If you live in our area, you may always come to see the vest in the gift shop. |
